Border Collies

Mary was given her first ABCA registered Border Collie in 2008. Miss Allie was quite the little dog and taught Mary a lot about what these amazing dogs can do. Two years later, with folks begging for pups, Miss Allie had her first littler and two years after that, another litter. With each litter, Mary added a dog to her livestock operation. Jinx was from Miss Allie’s first litter and then Joy and since then, Joy had two litters, adding Fly, Tucker and Whip. Fly’s first litter of puppies arrived in November of 2022 and Jimmy and Jewel joined the family of dogs Mary uses on the farm and job site.

Miss Allie crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2019 and Jinx crossed the Bridge in June of 2022; leaving Joy as the alpha dog while Fly took over the main working position. Jimmy and Jewel spent their first season (2023) on the road, learning the ropes and meeting people. They also learned they can’t always be chasing the goats. As their training continues, they will begin to find their ideal position on the work crew as Grandma Joy ages slowly works into retirement.

Tucker and Whip are the only two dogs you won’t see on the road with Mary as they are left at home to take care of duties there and help protect Grandma Shirley, Mary’s mom.
